WING CHUN DOUBLE KNIVES

The Wing Chun Kuen double knives (short swords) are taught to advanced practitioners. The Wing Chun blade system taught by instructor Di Virgilio has 13 sections. This unique blade system belonged to late grandmaster Yip Man. Although he showed many shortened versions of the system to a number of his followers, very few learned all the sections. Yip Bo Ching (deceased) and Wong Shun Leung (deceased) were shown the entire 13 sections. Wong Shun Leung passed this system to several of his long time followers, of which Yeun Yim Keung was both the best and the longest blades practitioner. Over a seventeen year period between 1980-1997, master Yeun passed the complete system to his classmates and to instructor Di Virgilio. In respect to master Yeun's wishes, Hawaii based instructor Di Virgilio continues to disseminate the blade system to advanced Wing Chun practitioners.

Each of the following blade sections can take up to a year before a practitioner can become fully functional. Upon finishing all the sections, the practitioner will spend a lifetime of rigorous practice to maintain his/her ability with the double blades.
